January 1921
TDM: Happy New Year | Event: Trials and Trains
The Refugees arrive in Tokyo after being trapped in a timeloop in their own worlds. They meet the scientists of the Nanjikan Research Laboratory, who explain the timeloops, and offer an apology on behalf of the people of Nippon for allowing this tragedy to occur. In the city proper, the people of Nippon ring in the New Year for the first time in a very, very long time. In Little Edo, there are memorial services dedicated to those who didn't live to see the time loop end.

Halfway through the month, the refugees are brought to the NRL to explain the phenomenon that brought them to Nippon: Kizuna, a type of bonding magic that was also responsible for ending the time loop. They ask for the refugees' assistance in testing what side effects this application of Kizuna might have, offering an unlimited rail pass in return.

The refugees get to experience Nihonbashi's infamous loop line, as well as the nearby city of Yokohama. Here, they are introduced to Yokai for the first time, in addition to exploring the city and learning of it's landmarks, such as the Port Market.

February 1921
TDM: Shopping in Shibuya | Event: Boiling Love
A department store in Shibuya offers a special clothing voucher for refugees, only to become the scene of a crisis when a dangerous time surge causes time to slow down inside. In Yoshiwara, the voyeur's club Sakuranbo offers extensive salaries to refugees willing to work there, while in Nihonbashi, a great Nippon salamander is dealt with thanks to the samurai hunter clan, the Hanzaki.

An unexpected snowstorm hits the Kanto region, and after experiencing blackouts in some of their housing properties, the NRL opts to send the refugees on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Owakudani Hot Spring Resort in Hakone. After a perilous cable car ride across the boiling Lake Ashi in which their were besieged by the thieving Tsuiraku Ninja clan, they find themselves in a wintry resort town. Owakudani's hot springs are famous for their view of Mt. Fuji, as well as the numerous enchanted outdoor springs, which the refugees enjoy to the fullest.

March 1921
TDM: Shitaya and Ayakashi | Event: What Lurks Beyond
The underground neighborhood of Shitaya is seeing an influx of dangerous ayakashi in their streets, and this marks the first time many refugees will be seeing them. Much of Shitaya's population is revealed to be poor Hanyo, half-Human half-Yokai hybrids who face discrimination across Nippon.

The source is revealed on the 20th, as a distress call from the Tengu's Skytower in Chubu reveals than a surge in the ayakashi know as the Jubokko tree has caused a dangerous amount of cursed pollen to blow through the city of Tokyo, causing all who inhale it to become erratic or even violent. However, its effects seem to be nullified by Kizuna, making the refugees the only ones capable of seeking out the trees to destroy them. Along the way, they're assisted by Goro of the NRL, and the very same Ninja they met in Hakone, who provide the airship necessary to travel to the region of Chubu.

However, an unknown force causes their ship to crash into Jukai, the sea of trees at the base of Mt. Fuji, forcing the refugees to travel through the danger-filled forest with only the Ninja as their guides. Psychedelic mushrooms, sexual harassment plants, and additional ayakashi are all at play in slowing their progression, but eventually, they reach the Jubokko's forest. This close to the source of the pollen, not even Kizuna will help ward off the effects.

Unfortunately, they also find Gojira, the patron deity of Chubu who calls Mt. Fuji home, seemingly in distress because of the pollen. But thanks to the refugees' quick thinking, they manage to calm the beast by resetting its broken arm, before quickly taking care of the remaining trees. Despite having earned the moniker the God of Destruction, Gojira is grateful to the refugees, and speaking in their minds, it offers them a blessing, which is later revealed to be the same blessing that allows Yokai to easily use the magic of Nippon.

Strangely, the Tengu of Skytower claim that Gojira cannot speak, and that the refugees seem to have the same aura as if they were Hanyo.

April 1921
TDM: Hanami and Dick Festivals | Event: Journey to the West
The cherry blossoms are in bloom, and everyone heads outside to enjoy them. Over in Kanayama Shrine in the outskirts of Tokyo, the Kanamara Matsuri is in full swing, introducing the Refugees to Tokyo's very own dick festival, including festive foods and an enchanted steel dildo. Additionally, the magi-comms receive an upgrade and can now take videos and photos.

On the 10th of the month, news is received that the long-awaited underground rail connection the Eastern Kingdom to the West is nearing completion. To celebrate it's opening day, the Emperor of the Western Kingdom of Yokai, Katsuragi no Mikoto, personally makes the five hour trip himself, inviting the famous time refugees to his kingdom. As the West is the both the kingdom of Yokai and Magic, the truth of Gojira's blessing is revealed, and the refugees are offered free magic lessons at Maryouku University.

And of course, the refugees are introduced to Uki, a popular recreational drug in the West with a notable sweet scent and flavor, available cooked into treats or at smoking bars. Despite being non-addictive and available to those as young as 15 in the West, it seems to be illegal in the East.

May 1921
TDM: Kyoto in Love | Event: Looking for Love
Refugees arrive at Kyoto's Maryouku University for the first time. As May is considered the month of love in the Western Kingdom, Refugees visit the Jishu Shrine in Higashiyama to celebrate the Love Festival.

Midway through the month, the refugees learn that bonding them with Nippon has caused them to become part Yokai, meaning they too will experience an annual heat cycle. These heats come in three varieties, ranging from submissive (Daijuu), to dominant (Daikoh), to downright insatiable (Daishoku). Thankfully, the Emperor seems to be aware of this, and throws an orgy in their honor at Naniwa Palace in Osaka.

Which exploring Osaka, the refugees learn of a gang of Yakuza known as the Puppeteers, who use their magic to control the bodies of innocent people, and they decide to seek them out in order to receive the rather weighty bounties places on their heads. Additionally, many choose to visit the theme-park-like district of Shinsekai, the only location in Nippon where time was seemingly allowed to pass for the last 20 years worth of timeloops, making it oddly technologically advanced compared to the rest of Nippon.

June 1921
TDM: Night in Shinjuku | Event: Terror in Tokyo
Refugees explore the Shinjuku neighborhood, discovering an eccentric sex store, a library with refugee-themed doujinshi, and restaurants selling otherworldly food items. Steamtube, a new video sharing website, is created by scienz_rulz_1899.

However, during a special block party thrown in the refugee's honor, the refugees themselves begin to disappear. They soon learn that nearly 100 refugees were kidnapped, and a rescue mission is quickly organized. The kidnapped refugees were being held in empty apartment buildings, hypnotized to work in brothels, and placed in makeshift dungeons within the catacombs beneath Tokyo, known as Jigoku.

The perpetrators were none other than the Puppeteers from Osaka, seeking revenge against the Refugees who hunted down their allies in May. Although the Puppeteers are caught and the Refugees are saved, many are left with a curse mark on their arm preventing them from receiving healing magic.

Additionally, the single man responsible for kidnapping everyone by freezing time, the man with the clawed hand, is never caught.

July 1921
TDM: Tanabata Festival | Event: Wet and Wild
The Refugees learn about Nippon's unique take on the Tanabata Festival. This year, the people of Nippon dedicate most of their wishes towards the Refugees themselves, to hope for their recovery following June's kidnappings. Exorcists from the West and Hunters from the East are in attendance to ensure nothing suspicious happens, as the Emperors of both kingdoms have arranged a symbolic meeting in honor of Tanabata. However, the Eastern Emperor never shows up.

A large indoor waterpark opens in Itabashi just in time for the rainy season, which has water slides, a full aquarium, and a botanical garden featuring rare ayakashi.

August 1921
TDM: Endless Eight | Event: Spirited Away
August starts with a strange incomprehensible message from scienz_rulz_1899. But everyone carries in, hoping to celebrate some of the festivals being held in Kyoto. This includes the Kikokugami festival, which recreates the final procession of Inari Okami before they ascended to the heavens. As well as the Minobi Festival, during which colorful firefly-like ayakashi can be viewed in parks all around Kyoto.

And some time during the month, all refugees are given a mysterious train ticket by a young woman they won't recognize.

However, on what is supposed to be the day of the Bon Festival, time resets, and all refugees who received a ticket awaken on the 1st to realize they're stuck in another time loop.

The ticket is a magical item that transports them to Takamagahara, the realm of the gods. The woman was before is revealed to be Inari Okami, who asks the refugees to help stop the time loop.

When a person dies and is resurrected by a time loop, a piece of their soul is shaved off as a result. Over the course of hundreds of loops, these fractured souls attempt to ascend while their body is still alive, resulting in severe mental distress for the living, and corruption of the soul itself. Knowing they can't move on yet, the corrupt souls used their power to corrupt the flow of time in order to prevent the Bon Festival from taking place, as the festival would have accelerated their ascension.

Using Kizuna, the refugees are able to gather the fractured souls and purify the corrupt ones in order to return them to their bodies in the mortal realm.

The refugees are returned just in time for the Bon festival to take place. Here, the refugees learn the true toll of the original time loop, with nearly 10 million lives lost over the course of a single year.

September 1921
TDM: Capitalism | Event: Keep No Secrets, Tell No Lies
A number of refugee-owned businesses have opened in Yokohama, including a popular new coffeeshop called Moonkicks, a bespoke fashion boutique focused on otherworldly trends, an a spooky nightclub known for enchanted drinks run by a refugee named Hex.

But on the 15th, a spell used in Hex's nightclub is found to be responsible for a curse affecting all of Kanto, causing mysterious tattoos to appear on their skin. These tattoos reveal their deepest inner thoughts and desires, as well as outright lies. And many of these tattoos cause those wearing them to desire whatever is written on their skin.

The source of the curse is tracked down to the Port Market, where a mysterious magi-tech machine is discovered by the Refugees. However, as the curse dissipates, the machine and all traces of its existence disappear, leading some to wonder whether it ever actually happened. It is implied that reality was altered by a strong manifestation of Kizuna, and that the Port Market was innocent all along.

October 1921
TDM: A Tale of Two Festivals | Event: Goodbye to the Golden Moon
Over in the Western Kingdom, the Tsukimi Festival has begun. During the Festival, the full moon is visible every night for two weeks, and special moon-watching parties are held in parks and lakes throughout the west. The Refugees take this opportunity to visit the city of Nara, a city built into the top of impossibly large trees, connected by bridges. But during the festival, the Refugees learn that looking at one's own reflection alongside the moon causes erratic and impulsive behavior.

But the tone of the month changes sharply with the arrival of the Sakumi Festival. Inspired by folklore in which the moon was taken away from greedy mortals who sought to control it's power, the moon is not visible for two weeks. And during those two weeks, the Western Kingdom becomes a very dangerous place for Humans and Hanyo, both f whom are given strict curfews for their own safety.

This is because the absence of the moon causes Yokai to become Lunar Cursed, growing more monstrous and drawing on their natural instincts as they become driven by a desire to consume. While these effects can be negated by wearing special masks prepared earlier in the month, not everyone will be following the rules, making it very dangerous to go outside at night.

And to make matters worse, the Refugees are also affected by the loss of the moon, becoming monster-like and driven by a similar desire to consume, be it flesh or sex.

As the month draws on, the stars begin to disappear from the sky as well, and those with an affinity towards them will also begin growing weaker as they start to fade away. And on the final day, the sun never rises. Those who've become monsters feel compelled to confess their sins at the nearest shrine before daybreak. It's not until the clock strikes midnight that a surge of energy from around the planet allows the return of the full moon, and causes all side effects to end.

November 1921
TDM: Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3 | Event: Steamy Stayover
Following all the oddness of October, the NRL asks refugees to participate in trials to test the true nature and limitations of Kizuna. These tests range from creating and breaking bonds, to attempting to alter reality through wishes.

Later in the month, the NRL sends the Refugees on another vacation to Hakone's Owakudani Hot Springs resort. But in addition to some rest and relaxation, those who volunteer for additional Kizuna testing are fitted with a bracelet designed to measure Kizuna output. But due to a technical flaw, the bracelets collect Kizuna instead, causing the Kizuna to overflow and increase the side effects of everyone in the resort.

December 1921
Special Post: Mysterious Emergency Broadcast | Event: With A Bang
A mysterious broadcast appears on the network, as scienz_rulz_1899 reveals herself to be an NRL scientist named Tomoko, whose future self will one day be responsible for the time loop that breaks the past. She reveals that this is actually the second year the refugees have experienced in Nippon, and that she has chosen to hide this secret to avoid her NRL colleagues from finding out.

She explains that this time, the time loop was caused by Kizuna, as enough refugees ended the year with lingering regrets that their wishes for a "second chance" came true.

On the final night before the time loop, the Emperor of the East Karu invites the refugees to a Winter Gala in their honor, and reveals himself to have been the one responsible for starting the Time Refugee Project that rescued them from their worlds.

During the party, the Western Emperor, Katsuragi no Mikoto, arrives unannounced and shares a private and intimate moment with Karu as his attendants throw a firework show for the Refugees.

As the clock strikes midnight, time marches on, and the refugees get to celebrate a new year in Nippon.
