Setting | Takamagahara

Takamagahara 高天原
Located in another dimension from Gaia, Takamagahara is the realm of the gods, and the place to which the souls of the departed ascend upon death.
Long ago, powerful beings known as gods lived alongside the people of Nippon, offering them blessings or serving as rulers. Eventually, the gods who were able to do so chose to ascend to a higher plain, effectively handing the earthly realm of Gaia over to mortals.
Lesser gods can still be found roaming the planet, though they are in few in number, and many are considered cursed or evil.
Western Paradise 極楽

Western Paradise is one of many villas located in a realm closest to the mortal realm. Sitting atop one of many floating islands, this villa is often occupied by Inari Okami, one of the few deities who still concerns themselves with the lives and happiness of mortals in Nippon. Anyone who visits must purify themselves at a powerful waterfall in the villa's garden, or in the hot springs located on a hill just past the main building.
In addition to free food and drink, those who visit Western Paradise will find themselves feeling soothed and at ease with each night they stay, as Inari Okami's presence has a powerful healing effect on weary bodies and souls.
Although beautiful and relatively peaceful, it is regularly haunted by the fractured souls of still-living mortals in Nippon, whose souls were torn apart after dying and then reviving over the course of many decades of timeloops. In August '21, a timeloop was created by a surplus of these souls, which was ended with the help of the refugees. As many more of these souls still exist in Takamagahara, refugees may occasionally find themselves being called upon to assist in clearing them out once more. Full details from that event can be found here.
At this time, Takamagahara can only be visited using Bonus AC, either in the form of a vacation, or in order to unlock Enhanced Kizuna for characters who were not present for an event that unlocked this feature.
